Four marriage equality activists were arrested in New York on Friday morning after they chained themselves to the New York Marriage Bureau! Alan Bounville, Jake Goodman, Justin Elzie and Gabriel Yuri Bollag chained themselves to the building after they and over 20 other same sex couples from activism group Queer Rising were denied marriage licenses by the Marriage Bureau.

To prove just how fucked up the whole situation is, a gay man and lesbian woman from the group then re entered the Marriage Bureau and were able to receive approval for a marriage license!

Queer Rising spokesperson Super Spring says the group is adamant in building a "grassroots, national movement" in the fight for marriage equality, stating, "The bankrupt strategy of putting all efforts into electing so called friendly officials has failed."
