Didier Drogba celebrates at the Bridge as he scored 3 of the Champions' 6 on their opening day trouncing of West Brom! It's back, and for the most part, it's back with a bang! That's unless you're Man City who spend 100 Million on players (granted, not all of them were on show) and you're lucky to get away from Tottenham with a 0 0 draw! There were 21 goals in total in the 8 games in the EPL today, 6 of those alone were scored by Chelsea as the Champions ran riot in the defence of their title. Elsewhere, rookies Blackpool started life in the EPL amazingly with a 4 0 win away at a shite Wigan team, and JAMES MILNER scored for what looks likely to be his last appareance in an Aston Villa shirt.

All the pre match talk before this game was about Chelsea's unusual lack of spending, especially as they let so many of that double winning side leave. The likes of Michael Ballack, Joe Cole, Ricardo Carvalho, Deco and Juliano Belletti have thus far only been replaced by YOSSI BENAYOUN & RAMIRES, who didn't play today. On this evidence, Chelsea looked fine without those who left. Alot of that was also down to West Brom's dismal defence. FLORENT MALOUDA opened and ended the scoring with tap ins, and that was sandwiched by the man who stole the show again DIDIER DROGBA, with a sumptuous hattrick, which included a magnificant low free kick. England flop FRANK LAMPARD also scored and kept up his awesome record in the EPL. Chelsea top the table after this win, their ex player ROBERTO DI MATTEO, manager of West Brom, will have his work cut out in trying to improve and bounce back. Drogba looked immense, and you'll never hear this from me EVER again, but CASHLEY put in a good shift at left back. They've sent out a strong message to Man Utd. and Arsenal already.
