2012 isnt Emmerichs first venture into doomsday films. He is known for his disaster and action movies, including Independence Day, Godzilla, and The Day After Tomorrow.
2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world, and follows the heroic struggle of the survivors.
The trailer shows stunning visual effects depicting the destruction of cities Emmerich is noted for. The film stars John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt and Woody Harrelson.
